A Little About Us

We’re a family of five living in a beautiful seaside suburb of Perth, WA, where the ocean breeze and relaxed coastal lifestyle shape how we live, play, and raise our children. Our lives are also joyfully shared with our much-loved Cavoodles, Lucy, Laela, and Roxy, who fill our home with laughter, cuddles, and so much unconditional love (and a little extra chaos… but we wouldn’t have it any other way).

My husband, who works in construction, built our family home from the ground up. So, when it came time to welcome a dog into our lives, we knew the decision needed to be thoughtful and well thought out. Something that aligned with both our home environment and young family.

We spent over a year exploring rescue options, hoping to find a pup that would be the perfect fit. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to find the right match. That experience prompted me to sit down and reflect on what traits would best complement our family and lifestyle. Here’s what we knew we needed:

• Low to non-shedding – With three kids and a brand-new home, minimising mess was essential.

• Small in size – A smaller dog felt safer and more manageable for our young children.

• Loving, friendly temperament – We wanted a true companion—joyful, affectionate, and family-oriented.

That checklist led us to the Toy-Mini sized Cavoodle, a wonderful blend of the intelligent, low-shedding Poodle and the sweet, loyal Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Bliss!

After more research, we found Lucy…our first Cavoodle. From the moment she joined our family, we knew we’d made the right choice. Over time, we welcomed Laela, then Roxy and each of the girls have done nothing but add fun, love and adventure to our family. Our kids adore them, we adore them, and just about everyone who meets our doggies falls in love with them too.

So, we decided to embark on the journey of breeding our female Cavoodles. I constantly devote endless time, energy, and care to learning how to do it ethically, and in a way that suits our family home environment. And that’s how Cavoodles (Theodores) By the Sea began. I truly want to share the Cavoodle love with others, and give families the same joy, connection, and comfort these dogs have given us.

I encourage others to approach dog ownership with the same thoughtfulness. No matter your path, the most important thing is finding a dog whose temperament, size, and energy truly align with your lifestyle. Dogs are a long-term commitment, and they deserve that level of care and consideration.

Throughout my life, I’ve shared my heart with many breeds, from the loyal Rhodesian Ridgeback to the endlessly lovable (and always hungry) Labrador, to the ever-gentle Golden Retriever. Each breed has brought something special, but when it comes to family life, our Toy/Mini Cavoodles have been the perfect fit for our family.

There’s nothing quite like the joy, comfort, and companionship of a dog, and when you find the right one? That’s when the magic truly begins.
